  1. He was a student at Swansea Art School 1930-1935 and studied under William Grant Murray and was a member of the Swansea Art Society. In 1935 he gained a scholarship to the Royal College of Art and studied etching and engraving under Malcom Osborne and Robert Austin. He served in the Royal Engineers 1940-1942 and with the model making section of the RAF 1942-1945. He was the art master at Eye Grammar School, Suffolk from 1947-1965 and then at Diss Grammar School 1965-1972. He lived and worked at The Retreat, Hoxne, Eye Suffolk and his biography can be found on the Hoxne Heritage website. His work is represented in a number of National and Regional museums and galleries in England and Wales.
