Hi there - I am a friend of Dorothy Redding, the artist on this blog post with the Reading Girl and Reading Boy. In fact, I am sitting with her right now on her sun porch here in Maryland! I am helping her write her life story, and just happened to do a search on her and found this! She is an amazing artist and has done MANY MANY beautiful portraits of people, sketches of animals, and much more. She has paintings of Alaskan Malamutes that are still on display in The Museum of the Dog in New York City. It was such a treat to see her paintings on your blog! ~Jeannie Finnegan
I'm trying to find Dot, went to Redding Rental location in Columbia, Md. 21045. It's closed, no information is she or you, Jeannie available to talk to her former students? She also taught at HCC. Did the two of you finish her book? Where can we get copies?
Sadly, Dorothy passed away a couple weeks ago. She will be missed! The Baltimore Banner interviewed me for a story about her which will be published online this Friday, May 2nd, 2025. I'm thinking of printing her autobiography so that others can read it. You can reach me at 410-900-8811. I'm sorry I never responded before now. After I posted my initial comment, I never went back k and looked at it.
Hi - I was also a student of hers and have been unable to find out how to reach her. Her phone started to go to voicemail immediately a couple years ago - I’ve kept trying. I miss her and would like to know how she is and get a chance to see her or chat with her.
